Lesson Details

Each lesson consists of three parts (A, B, and C)

  • Part A of each lesson has five subsections (1-5)
    • Subsection 1: The theme of the lesson
    • Subsection 2: The featured verb and it's conjugation in present, past, or future tense
    • Subsection 3: Examples of the featured verb conjugated in sentences
    • Subsection 4: Practice with fill-in-the-blank exercises
    • Subsection 5: English sentences to listen to for pronunciation practice (written Spanish translations are included)
  • Part B of each lesson is an exercise in listening and has four subsections (1-4)
    • Subsection 1: Instructions for using TALK IT ( EXE ) software to listen to the sentences in Part B
    • Subsection 2: Examples of verb conjugations in simple sentences
    • Subsection 3: Practice sentences to listen to
    • Subsection 4: Sentences revisted from Part A of the same lesson
  • Part C of each lesson focuses on developing written skills and has four subsections (1-4)
    • Subsection 1: Writing practice sentences in the affirmative using the current verb conjugation
    • Subsection 2: Writing practice sentences in the negative using the current verb conjugation
    • Subsection 3: Writing practice sentences in the interrogative using the current verb conjugation
    • Subsection 4: A challenge to move ahead in preparation for the following lesson

Instructions for downloading TALK IT

  • Click on a TALK IT ( EXE ) link
  • Select the option to save to disk and click ok (an ideal place to save this file is on your desktop)
  • When you are ready to use TALK IT, copy the text you wish to have spoken, click on the file you downloaded then paste the copied text into the TALK IT screen. Then listen to the pronunciation.
