(2) EL VERBO DEL DIA: to tell or to say = decir/contar (tiempo pasado)

Conjugación del verbo del día: Presente Pasado Futuro
yo - I say / tell said / told will say / tell
tú - you say / tell said / told will say / tell
él/ella/ello - he/she/it says / tells said / told will say / tell
nosotros - we say / tell said / told will say / tell
ustedes - you say / tell said / told will say / tell
ellos/ellas - they say / tell said / told will say / tell

 

(3) EJEMPLOS DE USO DEL VERBO DEL DIA:

a. Afirma You said hello to your friend. Dijiste hola a tu amigo.
b. Niega You did not say hello to your friend. No dijiste hola a tu amigo.
c. Pregunta Did you say hello to your friend? ¿Dijiste hola a tu amigo?
d. Afirma He told his friends the truth. El dijo a tus amigos la verdad.
e. Niega He did not tell his friends the truth. El no dijo a tus amigos una mentira.
f. Pregunta Did he tell his friends the truth? ¿Dijo a tus amigos la verdad?
Auxiliar para afirmar = no se requiere: I, you, he, she, it, we, they ... tell / say
Auxiliar para negar = I did, You did, He did, She did, It did, We did, They did ... not tell / say
Auxiliar para preguntar = Did I, Did you, Did he, Did she, Did it, Did we, Did they ... tell / say?

 

(4) LA TAREA: llene los espacios en blanco:

(afirma) Juan the story. El le contó a Juan la historia.
(afirma) her the directions to my house. Yo le dije a ella las direcciones a mi casa.
(afirma) me where they live. Ellos me dijeron donde viven ellos.
(afirma) him the answers. Ustedes le dijeron a él las respuestas.
(afirma) Juan Alma to go to the store. Juan dijo a alma que vaya ella a la tienda.
(niega) Maria and I the story. María y yo no contamos la historia.
(niega) the teacher anything. No dijimos al profesor nada.
(niega) anything. El no dijo nada.
(pregunta) anything to you? ¿Te dijo él algo a ti?
(pregunta) the truth always? ¿Decían ellos la verdad siempre?
(pregunta) Gabriela you about the class? ¿Te dijo Gabriela sobre la clase?

Did you tell him the story? Yes, I told it to him.
¿Le contaste a él la historia? Sí se la conté.
 
Did they tell the same story to the children?. No, they didn’t tell the same story; they told a different one.
¿Contaron la misma historia a los niños? No, no contaron la misma historia; contaron una diferente.
 
Did I tell you how much I enjoyed hearing the story the first time you told it? No, you didn’t tell me but I am happy that you liked it.
¿Te dije cuanto me disfrutaba oír la historia la primera vez que la contaste? No, no me dijiste pero me alegre que te gustara la historia.
 
Did you tell the story to your friends yet? Yes, of course, I told it to several of my friends.
¿Les contaste la historia a tus amigos todavía? Sí, por supuesto, se la conté a varios de mis amigos.
