COMPUTER ASSISTED LITERACY FOR NON ENGLISH SPEAKERS

(1) TEMA DEL DIA: Partes del cuerpo

(2) EL VERBO DEL DIA: to be able or can = poder (tiempo presente )     Listen to the verb conjugation ( WMA )

Conjugación del verbo del día: Presente Pasado Futuro
yo - I can could will be able
tú - you can could will be able
él/ella/ello - he/she/it can could will be able
nosotros - we can could will be able
ustedes - you can could will be able
ellos/ellas - they can could will be able

 

(3) EJEMPLOS DE USO DEL VERBO DEL DIA:     Listen to the examples ( WMA )

a. Afirma You can learn English. Puedes aprender inglés.
b. Niega You cannot learn English. No puedes aprender inglés.
c. Pregunta Can you learn English? ¿Puedes aprender inglés?
d. Afirma She can learn English. Ella puede aprender inglés.
e. Niega She can not learn English. Ella no puede aprender inglés.
f. Pregunta Can she learn English? ¿Puede ella aprender inglés?
Auxiliar para afirmar = no se requiere I, you, he, she, it, we, they ... can
Auxiliar para negar = no se requiere I, you, he, she, it, we, they ... cannot
Auxiliar para preguntar = no se requiere Can I, Can you, Can he, Can she, Can it, Can we, Can they?

 

(4) LA TAREA: llene los espacios en blanco:     Listen to the answers ( WMA )

(afirma) read. El puede leer.
(afirma) read. Puedo leer.
(afirma) read. Ellos pueden leer.
(afirma) read. Ustedes pueden leer.
(afirma) Juan read. Juan puede leer.
(niega) Maria and I read. María y yo no podemos leer.
(niega) read. No podemos leer.
(niega) read. El no puede leer.
(pregunta) read? ¿Puede él leer?
(pregunta) read? ¿Pueden ellos leer?
(pregunta) Gabriela read? ¿Puede Gabriela leer?

 

(5) Listen to the sentences ( WMA )

Can you speak English? Yes, I can do it but Rodolfo cannot do it.
¿Puedes hablar inglés? Sí, puedo pero Rodolfo no puede hacerlo.
 
They can do it if they study and work hard.
Ellos pueden hacerlo si estudian y trabajan duro.
 
Can you speak English? Yes, we can speak better now than before.
¿Pueden ustedes hablar inglés? Sí, podemos hablar mejor ahora que antes.
 
We can use the computer to learn English. We can increase our vocabulary. We can learn to pronounce the English words. Can you attend every class? Yes, we can attend every class.
Podemos usar la computadora para aprender inglés. Podemos aumentar nuestro vocabulario. Podemos aprender a pronunciar las palabras del inglés. ¿Pueden ustedes asistir a todas la clases? Sí, podemos asistir a todas las clases.
