Assignment 5: Pratical Chinese Reader I

  1. Review pronunciation and characters learned from Lesson 4.
  2. Read notes on page 41.
  3. Listen to Lesson 5 audio tape and practice pronunciations on pages 42 and 43.
  4. Please click on “Writing” to learn how to write Lesson 3 characters and then practice writing.
  5. Please click “Grammar” to learn sentence structure.
  6. Fill in the blanks and substitute words on pages 43 and 44.
  7. Read phonetics and grammar notes from pages 44, 45, and 46.
  8. Please do the exercises on pages 6, 7, 8, and 9 from Practical Chinese Reader I: Patterns and Exercises, (PCR I: PE). Since some of the vocabularies in the exercises have not yet been taught, you may do the ones you know.
