Design an Advanced IA Project

In this activity, you will design an advanced project using the Instructional Architect. In addition, you will discuss with group members your experience with designing IA projects. Finally, you will do a self-assessment by reviewing the Checklist below.

Activity

Activity

Design an IA project by applying what you have learned in the last several activities.

Make sure that the IA project you design:

  1. Uses at least three resources gathered from at least two different methods (search NSDL, browse IA projects, and/or add your own Web resources).
  2. Uses resources that are relevant, appropriate, reputable, and motivating.

Now that you are familiar with the procedure of designing IA projects using the Instructional Architect, think about the following questions:

  • When an online resource is found, what is the best way to integrate it into the IA project so that your students learn more deeply?
  • What are the differences and similarities between designing IA projects and preparing face-to-face lectures, homework handouts, or in-class lab activities?

  • You designed an advanced IA project, which has at least three relevant, appropriate, reputable and motivating resources found from two different sources (the NSDL, browsing other IA projects, the Web).
  • You thought about the questions above.
