What Might Have Been

Think about a time when you were given an opportunity to gain new knowledge or skills and you took that opportunity. This might have been in a school setting, a workshop, or learning something from a friend or family member.

Describe the opportunity using the following guidelines. (It might be helpful to tell a friend or briefly write your answer):

  1. What knowledge or skills did you gain through your pursuit of this opportunity and how did it contribute to your development?
  2. Now describe a time when a situation called for you to use those skills or you felt like you should use those skills, but you did not or you did not use them fully or appropriately.
    1. What was the result?
    2. If you had given of yourself fully, and not been resistant, how might the results have been different/better?
