What Might Have Been
Think about a time when you were given an opportunity to gain new knowledge or skills and you took that opportunity. This might have been in a school setting, a workshop, or learning something from a friend or family member.
Describe the opportunity using the following guidelines. (It might be helpful to tell a friend or briefly write your answer):
- What knowledge or skills did you gain through your pursuit of this opportunity and how did it contribute to your development?
- Now describe a time when a situation called for you to use those skills or you felt like you should use those skills, but you did not or you did not use them fully or appropriately.
- What was the result?
- If you had given of yourself fully, and not been resistant, how might the results have been different/better?
