Premarital & Marriage Inventories

Several great tools exist to help couples identify the strengths and potential problem areas in their relationships. They are called premarital or marriage inventories. Some can be taken on-line and the self-interpreted results can be sent to you via e-mail and others must be taken in writing and interpreted by a counselor or clergy. The inventories take about an hour to complete and are relatively inexpensive, ranging in price from $5-30 per couple.

The main premarital and marriage inventories include:

  • Relationship Evaluation (RELATE) (relate.byu.edu)
  • Premarital Preparation and Relationship Enhancement (PREPARE). You can learn more about PREPARE by visiting www.lifeinnovations.com or by contacting your clergy person or a therapist.
  • Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study (FOCCUS). You can learn more about FOCCUS by e-mailing flo@omahaflo.creighton.edu or by contacting your clergy person or a therapist.

These inventories can be a great way to help you focus your premarital preparation or marriage strengthening efforts.
