Sacred Religious Texts and Commentaries. Sacred religious texts usually include both scriptures that are regarded as having an inspired origin and later religious commentaries on those texts that are viewed as authoritative interpretations of those scriptures. These young monks in the Tsurphu Monastery in Tibet are reciting prayers from sacred texts. |
